Baron Technology is proud to assist the Union Sportsmen's Alliance (USA) in raising money for their cause. When the nonprofit came to us seeking out an engraving company to help in creating their next Gun of The Year (GOY) we happily accepted the project.

In the end, the Blued Colt 1911 Classic Government Series 70 was crafted. The idea behind the theme was to design an engraved gun that celebrates America's Union Workers.

To do so we used distinct individual motifs on the sides of the slide to represent the different trades that USA members belong to including bricklayers, construction workers, masons, machine shop workers, riveters, steel workers, and welders. Included is a “Made in the USA” banner and an American Flag, embellished with selective gold plating on the slide and other specific parts throughout.

About The Union Sportsmen's Alliance

The Union Sportsmen's Alliance (USA) is a union-operated, union-dedicated, conservation organization. It is committed to uniting more than six million active and retired AFL-CIO trade union members who hunt, fish, and participate in outdoor recreational activities.

The USA is a community with a shared commitment to educating future generations of sportsmen and women, conserving healthy wildlife habitats, and volunteering their time and skills for projects that improve outdoor access for all.

In 2007 the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership and Union leaders saw a unique opportunity to form a union-dedicated conservation-based organization—the Union Sportsmen's Alliance. It was founded on January 15, 2007, at the SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trades) Show in Orlando, FL.

In May 2010, just three years after its creation, the Union Sportsmen's Alliance grew strong enough to become a stand-alone hunting, fishing, and conservation organization with more than 20,000 members across the U.S. and Canada. In the fall of 2013, the Union Sportsmen's Alliance achieved a new milestone by surpassing 100,000 members.
